Wolves striker Freddy Eastwood has warned Jens Lehmann that Wales have him in their sights ahead of Saturday’s Euro 2008 qualifier in Cardiff.
The Germany keeper has endured a troubled start to the season for Arsenal, making two high-profile errors that cost the Gunners goals against Fulham and Blackburn.
In contrast, Eastwood has made a red-hot start to the campaign for both club and country, netting four times for Wolves so far and scoring a memorable winner on his Wales debut in Bulgaria last month.
And the £1.5m summer arrival at Molineux from Southend has vowed to pepper the German goal at the Millennium Stadium in the hope of forcing another gaffe out of Lehmann and adding to his tally.
“When you look at the form I’m in and the form he’s in, I definitely fancy my chances against him,” said Eastwood.
“Every player goes through a bad time and Lehmann seems to be having one at the start of this season.
“That’s unlucky for him - but it’s a good thing for us.
“When a keeper is making mistakes it can have a massive effect on him.
“If I’m on the pitch I’ll be shooting at Lehmann as soon as I get half a yard.
“The more shots I fire at him, the more chance I’ve got of scoring.
“If he makes a mistakes against me then I will absolutely love it.”
Eastwood is expected to partner Craig Bellamy - who is in equally good form for West Ham - at the weekend and says Wales are eager to add to Lehmann’s woes, which have cost him his place at the Emirates Stadium.
“We’ll be looking at the German side for any weak points and I’m sure the gaffer will pick out Lehmann’s form,” added Eastwood.
“He’s a good keeper but he does have his moments.”
A back injury denied Eastwood his Wales debut at the end of last season.
But after making the switch to Molineux he is confident he can become a hit for the country he qualifies for through his grandparents.
He added: “I always believed I could score goals in international football but I had to go out and do it on the pitch.
“I had one shot against Bulgaria and scored.”

I’d love to see Freddie score against the Krauts. I also hope that he comes back to us injury free after the Taffies endeavours.
the form freddie is in at the moment i am sure he has a great chance of adding to his international goal tally go freddie go
Make him look like a muppett he really is. Up the Wolves…
Go get him Freddy!
FREDDY, FREDDY, FREDDY!
go get him freddy !!!!
Shoot on site Freddy!
To be honest, I will be surprised if Wales actually have that many shots on goal. Against the English, the Germans looked a formidable outfit from front to back. At the back they have Friedrich, Mertesacker, Metzelder and Lahm.
Hopefully the Welsh will do a better job than the English did and Freddy will grab another goal or two.
“and Freddy will grab another goal or two”
Lets see Championship Quality Striker vs the defence you quoted + Jens….
Wolves fans make me LOL
^_^
So Freddie fancies his chances against the Krauts! Bet he was just as confident against Morecambe and Stoke.Ooops
